(MENAFN - Arab News) Many saudi men are reportedly taking the contraceptive pill which they say will regulate hormones and enhance their complexion.

others take it to treat acne or remedy an overly husky voice. yet these men are oblivious to the dangers associated with taking these pills saying its efficiency has been proven.

weight lifters are attracted to taking the pill because they say it enhances the chest area potentially helping them win competitions while many reportedly take the pills on a daily basis just like women who take them to avoid getting pregnant.

doctors have stressed that women on the pill should undergo periodic medical testing including a breast check-up liver function and fat level tests for fear of its negative effects which include mood swings weight gain menstrual disorders and physiological and psychological changes.

one young man who previously used these pills but stoppe over a year ago said some of his colleagues had opted for the wrong medication which caused some to develop cancer.



'i stopped using them for fear of getting cancer despite their proven efficiency at improving voice function and improving skin in a short period of time" he said. 'these medications were initially used by weightlifters because they produce female hormones in the body but their use has since become widespread."

another young man said that it easy to purchase these medications because they are readily available.

'there is a great difference between my physical form since i've started using these pills" he said.

most of his colleagues use these medications saying external form is very important and increases the chances of advancing in their career. 'looking good has become a requirement to getting a job and advancing in modern day careers" said another young man who uses these pills.
