(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) For his part Sheikh Ahmad Muhammad Al-Tayyeb Grand Imam of the Al Azhar Mosque also addressed the conference and highlighted the history of Islamic civilisation in forging links between nations.
Sheikh Al-Tayyeb praised the role of the conference in reinforcing the principles of equality and justice that are essential to maintaining social stability and development for all.
Following the speech of the Grand Imam His Royal Highness Prince Hassan bin Talal addressed the forum andhighlighted the role of enhanced dialogue in resolving international economic social cultural and humanitarian issues. He stressed that effective dialogue among nations is vital for securing peace that is based on shared ethics and values.
The Conference was then addressed by the Chairman of the King Faisal Centre for Research and Islamic Studies HRH Prince Turki Al Faisal al Saud. During his address prince Turki discussed effective means of building friendly links among nations in addition to the need to remove threats to peace and enhance international cooperation.
The conference was attended by more than 150 religious figures from 80 different countries.(END)
