Jordaian Interior Minister Meets Saudi Security Senior Official


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Amman May 05 -Jordanian Interior Minister Hussein Majali on Monday discussed with Director of the Saudi Public Security Department Maj. Gen. Othman al-Mihrij means of striking closer cooperation between Jordan and Saudi Arabia in security-related domains.

Majali said developments in the region require the two countries to look into opening broader scopes of security cooperation in areas of training rehabilitation and border protection and control against any breaches.

The minister stressed the need for maintaining continued coordination between the two countries to lay out mechanisms needed to combat drug trafficking terrorism and crime. He said geographic religious and political bonds provide a common ground for the two countries to achieve common interests.

The Saudi official on his part hailed Jordan's role in hosting a large number of Syrian refugees despite economic hardships and limited resources.
