(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Doha May 05 - The Steering Committee for the National Development Strategy (2011-2016) Mid-Term Review (NDS-MTR) held its second meeting under the chairmanship of HE Dr. Saleh bin Mohamed Al-Nabit the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) and attended by HE Dr. Issa Saad Al-Jafali the Minister of Administrative Development.
During the meeting held at the MDPS headquarters and also attended by thirteen undersecretaries and high officials of other bodies also attended the meeting which was held at the MDPS headquarters the committee discussed the progress achieved in the preparation of the NDS-MTR which aims to examine the convenience of NDS(2011-2016) objectives to identify gaps and to include the new strategic directives in response to the local and international changes.
The committee also tackled the challenges confronted during implementation and how to better handle them seeking to enhance the implementation mechanisms.
The committee was briefed on the report preparation process and the contribution of the World Bank in this regard.
The NDS 2011-2016 is the country's milepost towards the achievement of the goals set by Qatar National Vision 2030 which is founded on four intertwined bases; human social economic and environmental development.
