Iraq- 11 Civilians Killed and Wounded in Fallujah


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Baghdad May 05 - 26 civilians were killed and wounded in the bombing of artillery and helicopters on Fallujah on Monday morning.

A source at the Fallujah General Hospital told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) "The most areas in Fallujah were subjected since dawn today to heavy bombardment by artillery mortar and helicopter." He added "The bombing killed 15 civilians and wounded 11 others and the number of victims could rise because the shelling is still continuing." Meanwhile a suicide bomber driving a car bomb was killed on Monday near a checkpoint in eastern Mosul.

A security source said "The army forces managed to kill a suicide bomber driving a car bomb near one of the checkpoints in the al-Tahrir neighborhood in eastern Mosul." The Joint Operations Command announced that 11 insurgents from ISIS were killed and wounded in Fallujah.

A source in (JOC) told NINA "forces of rapid intervention managed to kill 5 militants from ISIS and wounding six others and destroyed two vehicles carrying machine guns and dismantling improvised explosive device in the Abu Khanfer Saqlawiya areas of Fallujah."
