Afghani exports up 33 percent in 2013

(MENAFN) According to the Afghani Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI), the country's exports increased by 33 percent during 2013, The Peninsula Qatar reported. The total amount of Afghanistan's export during last year recorded USD524 million, compared to a total export of USD393 million in 2012, said the ACCI Chief. This growth in exports was mainly driven by reduction in natural disasters and transit issues, growth in fruit harvest and introduction of Afghan products in European markets. "An increase was noted in exports of natural herbs, dry fruits, vegetables, carpet, cotton and precious stones. The transit with the neighboring countries has also been resolved to some extent," ACCI Chief added.
