MVNO T.Mobile to launch business in China

(MENAFN) The Telephone World Digital Group unit, T,Mobile, became the first Chinese mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) offering wireless voice and data services, Xinhua reported. MVNOs provide services through network access they have leased at wholesale rates from another mobile operator, without owning telecommunications infrastructure. Telephone World Digital Group is one of other 19 companies that have received MVNO licenses, including subsidiaries of e-commerce giant Alibaba, retailers Suning, JD.com and D.Phone. "The virtual operators will help push forward reforms in the telecom industry and drive down prices of telecom services," secretary general of the Industry Association of the Mobile Virtual Network Operators said.
