Suicide Attack in Afghan Kunduz Province


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Kabul May 04 - A heavy explosion was reported in Kunduz province of Afghanistan on Sunday. Preliminary reports suggest the blast took place due to a suicide attack.

There are no reports regarding the casualties following the explosion so far according to (Khaama Press).

Local security officials have not commented regarding the incident yet.

On the other hand a group of insurgents who were looking to plan a suicide attack in eastern Logar province of Afghanistan were blown up by own explosives.

The Interior Ministry issued a statement Sunday saying that the incident took place in Pul-e-Alam city on Saturday.

The statement further added that three militants including two Pakistani nationals were killed following the explosion according to Khaama Press.

Logar is among the volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militant groups are actively operating in its various districts and frequently carry out insurgency attacks.
