British construction output increases slowly

(MENAFN) The London-based survey compiler Markit Economics (Markit) reported that the country's construction output increased last month, while the rate of expansion was the weakest since October 2013, Xinhua reported. Markit said that British Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) dropped from 62.5 to 60.8 percent in April, with the overall rate of expansions easing since March. British construction firms continued to record strong output rises during April despite this decline, with all three broad categories of activity registering strong growth. According to official figures, the construction sector accounts for about 6.3 percent of Britain's gross domestic product (GDP).
