(MENAFN - Arab News) The show of productive families which concluded in asir on thursday attracted more than 10000 visitors during the weeklong event.
the show which was inaugurated by asir gov. prince faisal bin khaled was attended by 300 women exhibitors from the region and 50 participants from other regions who displayed their homemade products.
the event was organized by the abha chamber of commerce and industry in association with the council of saudi chambers. (csc)
csc chairman abdullah al-mobty said that the women in abha made use of the opportunities to display their handicraft skills and were able to market their products to various parts of the kingdom. he said that there was stiff competition in the manufacturing of various products which also have scope for export.
he said that the csc will lend its support to market some of the quality products displayed at the show at the local and regional levels.
the exhibits included garments for babies and women ornaments traditional dishes products made out of recycled items perfumes wall plaques and handicrafts displaying saudi traditions.
a spokesman from the abha chamber of commerce and industry said that based on the unprecedented response from the families in the asir region the chamber will consider making it an annual event in the future.
