Asian Football Association Rejects Al Jaish Appeal

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Doha May 03 - The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) rejected Saturday a complaint filed by Qatar's Al Jaish against their opponents Uzbekistan champions Bunyodkor.

Al Jaish said in their complaint that Bunyodkor must be banned from this year's competition because their player Anwar Gafurov had already participated with another team already in the competition.

The rejection of the complaint means that Bunyodkor will move on to the last-16 round. Secretary-General Thani Al Kuwari said that the club will appeal the AFC's decision. He expressed his perplexion at AFC's slow response to the complaint adding that such a clear case normally takes 24-48 hours to respond to.
