Spanish Industrial Sector Misses Expectation Recovery Still on Track


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Madrid May 02 - Activity in the Spanish manufacturing sector fell against expectations in April official data from the government showed Friday.

Purchasing Managers Index which measures the overall activity of the industrial sector fell below the forecast 53.4 for the month of April to 52.7. The index is considered a strong indication of the Spanish economy as a whole. Despite missing its target having a value of more than 50 means the Spanish economy is recovering albeit slower than expected. Markit Financial Information Services said today in a report that Spain's Manufacturing PMI fell to 52.7 from 52.8 in the preceding month.
