'frozen' which features the oscar-winning song 'let it go' sold another 115000 copies last week bringing its cumulative us sales to 2.5 million according to figures from nielsen soundscan. last week 'frozen' ousted the soundtrack of walt disney co's 1994 movie 'the lion king' to become the animated film soundtrack with the longest run at the top of the billboard 200 chart. billboard said the 'frozen' soundtrack is the first album to cross 2 million in 2014. beyonce's self-titled album is the second-biggest seller with 648000.

two members of the nkotbsb tribe spilled the beans on making music that is bound to thrill 90s kids everywhere. backstreet boys' nick carter and new kids on the block's jordan knight announced they will record an album and go on tour together. the duo revealed the collaboration on good morning america and appeared on the wendy williams show wednesday to talk about combining their boy band powers. 'we hit it off a long time ago actually' knight said. 'we worked in the studio before we always knew we would be collaborating on music and we reunited when we did the nkotbsb tour. we always talked about doing a tour together. we thought i should do a solo album and he would do a solo album and we'd go on tour. but then we came to think as like 'we should do something together and mixing it up and doing something new.' the duo are in the recording studio now and expect to be finished with their album on sept. 2. after that they will be embarking on a national tour starting sept. 15. perez hilton released a recording from their upcoming album titled 'titled 'nick & knight' which you can listen to here. the interview quickly got sloppy when wendy williams showed a picture of former n'sync member joey fatone and misidentified him as a member of the backstreet boys. williams also asked knight and carter to respond to fatone's claims that they're only doing music together for the money something that carter clarified. eric clapton is paying tribute to his late friend and collaborator j.j. cale with a new album. tom petty willie nelson john mayer and others lend a hand on 'the breeze: an appreciation of j.j. cale' due out july 29. the album includes 16 cale songs reimagined by clapton and the all-star group of friends. cale architect of the tulsa sound and a widely influential figure in rock 'n' roll history died last year at 74. clapton turned cale's 'after midnight' and 'cocaine' into major hits and the two recorded and collaborated together. others on the album include mark knopfler derek trucks and cale's wife christine lakeland. clapton says in a statement that he wants to bring more attention to cale: 'i'm just the messenger.'
