Sudan Rejects in Retaining in List of Sponsoring Terrorism Countries

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Khartoum May 01 - - The Sudanese government has strongly rejected the US administration's insistence to retain it in its list of the so-called countries sponsoring terrorism through the annual report issued by the US administration on Wednesday SUNA news agency reported.

In a statement issued Thursday the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the report of the US administration raises suspicion about the credibility of the criteria upon which it was set and also indicates that such a report is a means that is being used in the US foreign policy for achieving political purposes that have nothing to do with the combating of terrorism.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the if the US administration is serious in combating terrorism and keen to cooperate with countries in this respect then it should reconsider such policies adopt new clear-cut criteria on the definition of terrorism and cooperate for combating terrorism before naming the countries that sponsor and support terrorism.
