HE Premier Patronizes Police College Briefing Session


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Doha May 01 - HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani who is also head of the supreme council of Police College on Thursday witnessed the college's first briefing session for Qatari high school students and their parents at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC).

HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohamed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hamadi who is secretary general of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) attended the event along with Police College officials college senior interior ministry officers as well as students and parents.

The session aimed at introducing students to the Police College's goals systems academic programs in legal and policing sciences and admission and registration procedures. The move comes as the institution is set to admit the first batch of students in September.

On the sidelines of the event HE the premier launched the Police College's website which includes information on the college its programs and plans and how to register.

The Police College was established in line with Emiri Decision No. 161 of 2013 and aims to develop students who are qualified and scientifically and practically trained in the legal and policing fields to serve in the police force. The college also works to develop curricula and educational and training methods to keep pace with the evolution of legal- and police-related knowledge and to encourage and support scientific research and innovation and creativity among college students.

According to the study and training system at the college it offers a bachelor's degree in law and police science. The duration of the study is four years comprising 130 credit hours.
