S. Korea's Exports Rise to Second Highest in April

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Seoul May 01 - South Korea's exports surpassed 50 billion US dollars last month as an effect of the economic recovery in the United States.

South Korea's Ministry of Trade Industry and Energy said on Thursday that the country's outbound shipments reached 50.31 billion US dollars in April up 9% year-on-year while its imports came to 45.85 billion dollars up 5% from the same time last year.

That's the second-highest monthly tally after October last year and it is the second time for the monthly figure to top the 50 billion dollar mark according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) website.

The ministry expects that exports will decrease this month due to fewer working days.
