British GDP up 0.8 percent in Q1


(MENAFN) Data by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed that British GDP registered a growth by 0.8 percent in the January-March period compared to the last quarter of 2013, in which it grew 0.7 percent, Xinhua reported. Data showed that British GDP was 3.1 percent higher in the first quarter of the current year, compared to the same quarter in 2013. ONS said that output of construction in Britain increased by 0.3 percent in the first quarter of the current year, compared with the fourth quarter of 2013, while production output grew by 0.8 and services industry output grew 0.9 percent.
