Qatar Leadership Centre Honors Members of Its Inaugural Programs -1


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) HE Sheikh Abdulla bin Ali Al-Thani Board Member and Managing Director of QLC noted "We are honored that HH the Emir received Qatar Leadership Centre's participants in advance of our ceremony and that this ceremony is held under the auspices of HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani Chairperson of the QLC Board of Directors." He added: "This honoring ceremony's sole purpose is to motivate the participants to harness all the lessons learned from the Centre's programs to advance Qatar's progress and development goals. We are confident that they will spare no effort to achieve their objectives." QLC programs combine theoretical and practical instruction to enhance the leadership and management skills of Qatari men and women who were chosen through a competitive merit-based process of assessments panel interviews and evaluation. QLC's core curriculum gives participants specialized leadership courses taught by world-class academic experts at prominent universities including Harvard Cambridge Duke Chicago and HEC Paris and offers opportunities for them to interact with prominent leaders in government and key sectors.

Qatar Leadership Centre participants are Qatari professionals drawn from diverse industries including government oil and gas healthcare education finance tourism real estate and communications technology. Through QLC these men and women many at senior management levels strengthen their leadership and management skills specifically in strategic thinking negotiation techniques policy analysis financial management and team-building through the customized leadership program offered by QLC.

"Qatar Leadership Centre enables Qatari professionals from all sectors to collaborate in innovative ways to bring about the development of a knowledge-based society." Qatar Leadership Centre is building on the success of the first two programs with its current programs launched in January 2014 designed to advance and nurture the talent of Qatari professionals. The Current Leaders Program and the Executive Leaders Program are designed for participants ages 25 to 35 and 36 to 46 respectively. QLC's new Government Leaders Program for participants ages 25 to 40 focuses on developing leadership decision-making and policy management skills for public sector professionals. All three programs now underway are scheduled to conclude in 2015 and the next cycle of QLC programs will begin. (END)
