(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Al Jenaibi International Automobiles has reported that the year has got off to a good start for the BMW Group importer in Oman with a 33 per cent increase in sales for BMW and Mini cars during the first three months of 2014, compared with the same period in 2013.
Demonstrating its strong intention to post yet another successful year, Divyendu Kumar, managing director of Al Jenaibi International, said, ''In Oman,
our customers demand the best in motoring, and our BMW Group vehicles cater to this growing interest. The impressive growth of the BMW 5 Series and the X5 - both of which were launched last year is a testament to this.''
''We have exciting plans for the remainder of 2014 and are confident that we will continue with our strong performance for the rest of the year,'' he said.
Building on its position as the global leader in the executive car segment, the BMW 5 Series achieved a 43 per cent increase in sales, a release said on Tuesday.
The latest version of the BMW 5 Series was launched in September of 2013 and the growth posted by the model is a testament to the performance, innovation and premium motoring experience it delivers to the executive saloon segment.
BMW X models continued to prove popular in Oman, with the BMW X3 growing by 940 per cent and the all-new BMW X5 accounting for a 44 per cent increase in sales. The launch of the third generation BMW X5 delivers outstanding luxury and unparalleled comfort, the release added.
Rounding off the growth in Oman was the BMW 7 Series and the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé - which continued to remain among the best-selling models for the BMW Group importer.
During the first quarter, Mini also continued to prove popular in the Omani market, accounting for a sales increase of eight per cent. The Mini Countryman and the Mini Coupé were the key drivers of success for the BMW Group importer
