Qatar- Peru to Work with Katara on Cultural Events


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Doha April 29 - Cultural Village (Katara) General Director Dr. Khaled bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti on Tuesday met with Peru's Deputy Minister of Culture Luis Jaime Castillo in the presence of HE Peruvian Ambassador to Doha Julio Florian Alegre.

Castillo expressed his country's keenness on holding cultural events at Katara in order to educate the Qatari society about Peru's culture through performances that deepen ties of friendship between the two countries in the wake of the recent visit to Doha by Peruvian president.

The Peruvian delegation expressed admiration at Katara and its role in enriching the cultural arena in Qatar Gulf and all over the world thanks to the variety of cultural events and activities.

Commenting on the visit Dr. Al-Sulaiti said the two sides discussed the possibility of holding joint events adding that Castillo proposed a cooperation project with Katara to organize an event that highlights the culture of Peru.

He added that Katara is always keen to host cultural events from all over the world in order to bring peoples together and promote the Qatari culture while absorbing other cultures and learning about them.
