(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Doha April 29 -The Ministry of Awqaf (endowments) and Islamic Affairs has opened three new mosques that accommodate up to ( 1521 ) worshippers in Azizia Khor and Mreikh areas as part of its plan to double the number of mosques in all regions of the state according to specific criteria and architectural heritage and environment in the light of the Qatar National Vision 2030 .
The capacity of the first mosque in Al-Azizia reaches to 1145 worshipers divided between ( 850 in the main hall 185 in the daily hall and 110 women hall ) .
While the second mosque in al khor area accommodates ( 157 ) worshippers and 49 female worshippers and a supplement housing the residence of the Imam and another one for praying announcer (muezzin) whereas the third mosque accommodates ( 170 ) worshippers and 40 female worshippers along with the houseof the Imam and the muezzin .
The mosques department at the ministry confirmed that these mosques have been provided with all facilities to render safe and complete services to the worshippers which come to keep up with population growth in the state.
