Logistics growth in China slows further in Q1

(MENAFN) Data by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) show that the logistics industry in the country continued its slower growth trend in the January-March period of this year, Xinhua reported. The data released by the CFLP reveal that the slower growth is the result of decreasing demand growth and the slowing economy. The total value of social logistics goods went up 8.6 percent from the first quarter of 2013, hitting USD7.77 trillion in first three months, CFLP's report shows. During the same period a year ago, social logistics goods grew by 9.4 percent, making this year's growth 0.8 percentage points slower than that from a year earlier. Combined logistics expenditure hit a total of USD373 billion in the quarter, increasing 8.1 percent year-on-year.
