USD200m to spur Albanian economy growth


(MENAFN) According to Albanian Finance Minister, the Albanian government paid USD200 million worth of arrears to businesses in order to support economic growth, Xinhua reported. The minister said that the move should have a positive impact on the economy by boosting business confidence, especially when it comes to employment. According to the Albanian Telegraphic Agency (ATA), the government has owed business debts in a total pf USD720 million, which equals 5.3 percent of the country's GDP. The Albanian economy is projected to have posted a growth of about 0.7 percent last year, which is the lowest in more than ten years, according to International Monetary Fund statistics.
