Kuwait- Deputy parliament speaker urges respect to judiciary

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Deputy National Assembly Speaker Mubarak Al-Khurainej stressed here on Monday the significance of respecting the country's judiciary in order to maintain public interest and ensure the course of justice. He warned, in a press statement, of slander against the judiciary which is a significant and vital asset in the society, saying that it is not in the interest of the judicial system to insult or mock a judge or even a judicial practice. He urged the Kuwaiti people to be proud of their great and fair judiciary even if they disagree with court rulings or instructions. The deputy parliament speaker cautioned that it is totally wrong to doubt or slander the judicial authority which shoulders responsibility for safeguarding the right and justice. "Everybody should respect and abide by judicial verdicts and no-body is above judicial rulings as all are equal before the judiciary," he reminded. He blasted those few people who regard themselves as above legal accountability in spite of the fact that their behaviors and words undermine the values of society and others' dignity and cast doubts about individuals and establishments. He urged them to bear in mind that all Kuwaiti people are equal before law in view of rights and duties alike.
