(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwaiti lawmakers from the Kuwaiti-Turkish Friendship Committee met Monday with Education and Health officials to discusses expanding cooperation with Turkey.

The delegation was briefed by Turkish officials on the education system, in the public and private sectors, and methods used in teaching.

According to a Turkish official in the Education ministry, academics entities have made a huge leap in recent years where the number of universities and education institutes surpassed 175, among them 72 private universities.

The official noted that studying in Turkish universities has become easy following the facilitation of regulations for enrollment, particularly taking a language level exam which was mandatory for foreign students in the past.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the committee MP Faisal Al-Shaye said outcome of their meetings will be conveyed to Kuwaiti education officials, including the possibility of providing scholarships to Turkish universities.

The Kuwaiti delegation also met with health officials and was briefed on the latest medical services and developments in the field.

A Turkish health official said health care was advanced in Turkey specially over chronic diseases, cancer, and facial tissues implant.

The Kuwaiti delegation said a recent visit by Kuwaiti Health Minister Ali Al-Obaidi to Turkey emphasized the need to boost health cooperation between the two countries.

The Kuwaiti lawmakers arrived in Ankara last night to bolster bilateral cooperation in political and parliamentary fields, as well as education, health and sports.
