EU expands Ukraine sanctions


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The EU Monday expanded the list of persons subject to targeted sanctions due to the Ukraine crisis. Fifteen "additional persons responsible for actions which undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine will be targeted with a travel ban and a freeze of their assets within the EU," said an EU statement released after a meeting of EU ambassadors today. This brings the total number of persons subject to sanctions in connection with Ukraine crisis to 48. The list of persons concerned will be published tomorrow in the EU Official Journal and will enter into force at the same time.
