(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) At a meeting held under the chairmanship of Aysha bint Abdullah al Alawi, assistant director general of housing projects in the Ministry of Housing, its housing aid committee has reviewed 62 requests for building aid.
A press release stated that nine housing aid requests were received from Muscat governorate. These included three from the wilayat of Muttrah, two each from Seeb and Quriyat, and one each from the wilayats of Muscat and Amerat.
It also reviewed 15 requests from North Sharqiyah, including 13 from the wilayat of Mudhaibi and one each from the wilayats of Bidiyah and Dima Wa al Taien, in addition to 23 from North Batinah - 11 from the wilayat of Suwaiq and 12 from the wilayat of Khabourah. 'Another ten requests from South Batinah including seven from the wilayat of Barka, two from Musannah and one from Al Awabi; four from Dakhliyah including three from Izki and one from Bahla were also discussed.
One request from Dibba in Musandam was also reviewed.' The committee also looked into six complaints submitted by citizens from the wilayats of Barka, Wadi al Maawel, Rustaq and Jaalan Bani Bu Ali. 'The committee looks into files of those land owners whose requests were rejected by the housing directorates in respective governorates.'
Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Housing in Dhahirah held a draw for 84 commercial and industrial plots at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry's branch in the governorate. ''Sixty one plots will be distributed for commercial purposes while another 20 will be distributed for industrial purposes in the wilayat of Ibri, two in Yanqul and one in the wilayat of Dhank,'' the release stated.
Officials from the ministries of Social Development, Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, Interior and Housing, the Public Authority for Charity and the Supreme Council for Planning attended the meeting.
