Palestine- Silatech, IYF advisers graduate

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Silatech and the International Youth Foundation (IYF) recently celebrated the graduation of a new batch of Tamheed advisers. Over 40 graduates from 11 partner institutions received training as career advisers, qualifying them to conduct individual career counseling sessions aimed at helping youth choose a career. The programme uses the Tamheed career guidance product developed jointly by Mindmill and Silatech, a Qatar-based social initiative focused on improving employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for young people throughout the Arab world. Tamheed is a psychometric assessment that analyses the personality, interests and strengths of young people, and then helps align these with available career paths. Silatech's partnership with IYF was launched in 2012, and now trained advisers provide career guidance to Palestinian youth at a variety of institutions. The Tamheed program me is currently operating at four universities and one school in Palestine-Palestine Polytechnic University, Bethlehem University, Al Najah National University, Arab American University and the Ramallah Friends School-as well as at NGOs including the Community Development and Continuing Education Institute, Palestinian Vision Organisation, YWCA, Leaders, Ta'awon for Conflict Resolution, and Vocational Education and Training Association. Over the past 16 months, advisers have reached over 2000 young men and women from various parts of the West Bank, where the program was well received. Dr Mohammed Al-Mbaid, Director, IYF Palestine, thanked the graduates for their commitment and dedication to helping Palestinian youth identify career paths that align with their interests and abilities. He lauded the qualitative partnership between IYF and Silatech, noting that it offers the best youth-facing tools available.
