the section has warned that those who are consuming these medicines are prone to side effects such as high blood pressure and irregular heartbeats.

these medicines which were not registered with the municipality were found in the market during inspections.

“we have already withdrawn the products. but we want to warn the public against their use” an official told khaleej times.

officials said the section is keen on inspecting markets to ensure that only approved health products are available there.

the department has carried out 2173 inspections including 244 ones done in the free zone.

in spite of keenness from the authorities unfortunately promoters of these unhealthy products seem to be successful in getting blind followers civic body officials observed.

keeping this phenomenon in mind the dubai municipality has urged the public not to rely upon unapproved products and not to lend ears to false and exaggerated promises like ‘100% herbal’ and ‘quick weight loss’.

the department has warned the public not to fall prey to online cheats and tele-marketing gimmicks. the public has been urged to inform the civic body by calling on 800900 if any such activity is found.
