UAE- Mohammed inspects new building of Forensic Science


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) He described the facility as one of the significant achievements of the dubai police which has achieved international excellence in the field of combating crime.

his highness shaikh mohammed bin rashid al maktoum vice-president and prime minister of the uae and ruler of dubai inspected the new building of the general department of forensic science and criminology of dubai police the first of its kind facility in the region in terms of area technology and specialties.

shaikh maktoum bin mohammed bin rashid al maktoum deputy ruler of dubai; khalifa saeed suleiman director-general of the department of protocol and hospitality in dubai; and senior officials accompanied shaikh mohammed during his tour to the building where he was welcomed by major-general khamis mattar al mazeina as the general commander of dubai police and senior officers.

in his remarks during the tour to the 4-storey building which is under construction on a total area of 420000 square feet at the headquarters of dubai police shaikh mohammed congratulated members of the staff on the achievement which he said will become a scientific monument with the latest technology and qualified national human resources.

he viewed the plans of the dh370-million building which will house six main departments and 27 new sections in addition to a training institute which accommodates 90 students a fully-equipped conference hall and other facilities.

the vice-president expressed his satisfaction at the construction of the project which will improve the efficiency of the general department of forensic science and criminology.

he described the facility as one of the significant achievements of the dubai police which has achieved international excellence in the field of combating crime protecting society providing security and stability in the country and preserving human rights freedom and dignity.

shaikh mohammed also gave directives for supporting the youth in all possible ways to encourage them to engage in training programmes conducted by the general department of forensic science and criminology and other departments of dubai police.

the new building will be completed in the fourth quarter of this year and it will administer nine laboratories providing evidence testing in the areas of chemistry dna toxicology firearms toolmarks document testing fingerprints electronic evidence and fire debris/arson.
