(MENAFN - Arab News) Flynas sponsored the knowledge based economy conference that took place at the king faisal conferences center in at riyadh intercontinental hotel.

the ministry of foreign affairs organized the event in cooperation with the ministry of economy and planning and the un.

nas group ceo suleiman al-hamdan expressed his delight in sponsoring a conference with this importance and magnitude.

he highlighted the fact that sponsoring this event stems from the group's role in general and flynas as a national carrier to support key national activities and event.

this reiterates the private sector's role in supporting key development projects and reinforcing the kingdom's strategies to transform it into a knowledge-based society while at the same time driving key efforts to make the transformation into knowledge-based economy as a strategic choice toward sustainable development.

al-hamdan lauded the efforts of the government of custodian of the two holy mosques represented in the ministry of foreign affairs.

he praised the valuable speech that was delivered by education minister prince khaled al-faisal. he addressed the roadmap of the development of education in the kingdom since its beginnings and until now.

wael al-sarhan director of marketing and communication affirmed that the sponsorship of flynas of this conference is an initiative from the airline to collaborate with the organizers in order to bring in international experiences and expertise in addition to local experiences to present and discuss key issues related to knowledge based economy and how this will create successes of future projects and national plans as part of the sustainable development initiatives.

flynas has supported key conferences in the past including the spinal cord injury conference which was organized by sultan bin abdulaziz humanitarian city in its quest to support scientific and research programs that supports the development of the community.

in addition to that flynas plays a leading role in various community engagement and participation including sanad where the company sponsored key programs and awareness campaigns relating to children suffering from cancer as part of its social responsibility programs.
