Qatar Reaffirms Workforce Safety and Health on World Day


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Doha April 28-Qatar reaffirmed its vow to workers' well-being at an event held by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MLSA) to mark World Day for Safety and Health at Work here Monday.

Around 525 people attended the event held next to Al Attiyah Market in Industrial Town.

The director managers and inspectors from the ministry Supreme Council of Health Ministry of Interior Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) experts senior management staff supervisors and workers from 241 companies shared and learned about safety issues.

The International Labour Organisation globally observes April 28 as World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

MSLA officials told the assembly the importance of following safety rules at work. Experts reminded professionals to be alert while managing workers and prevent accidents.

Speaking to journalists Labour Inspection Department Director Khalid Abdulla Al Ghanim said "We reaffirm Qatar's commitment to safety at workplace as people mark the World Day for Safety and Health at work." The ministry regularly holds awareness campaigns in Qatar and highlights to workers potential risks and safety precautions they have to take at sites he said. (MORE)
