Jordanian FM Meets Japanese Delegation Discuss Ties Mideast Peace Process


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Amman April 28 -Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh met on Monday with a Japanese parliamentary delegation and discussed with it bilateral ties issues of common interest as well as the latest developments in the region.

The minister reviewed with the delegation the latest developments in Syria and affirmed Jordan's stance under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II which calls for preserving the country's security and unity and arriving at a political solution with the participation of all segments of the Syrian people.

He also spoke about the humanitarian repercussions of the crisis on Jordan which is hosting more than 600000 Syrian refugees and urged the international community to support the Kingdom to enable it to continue its humanitarian role towards the refugees.

Talks also covered efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East and establish an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Members of the delegation on their part praised the Kingdom's efforts to bring about peace and stability in the Middle East.
