(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Uae drivers continue to have a strong affinity for the iconic gmc brand which has a history spanning over 100 years in the region.

strong vehicles are producing strong sales results in the uae with gmc posting a 24 per cent growth in sales in the first quarter compared to the same period last year.

uae drivers continue to have a strong affinity for the iconic gmc brand which has a history spanning over 100 years in the region.

the 24 per cent overall increase was driven by a particularly high growth from the brand’s suvs.

the gmc yukon and its high-trim spec version the luxurious yukon denali continue to be a perennial favourite of uae drivers. in the first quarter uae gmc dealers sold twice as many yukon and yukon denalis as they did in the same quarter last year.

there was also a 40 per cent growth for its larger counterpart the yukon xl and yukon xl denali. the sierra pickup and fleet sales of the savana van were also key contributors to the quarterly performance.

the introduction of the new-look next generation of gmcs is expected to boost sales and growth even further.

“there are big developments on the horizon for gmc” said nadim ghrayeb regional brand manager for gmc. “the 2015 sierra heavy duty model is about to hit the showroom floor in may and the anticipation and excitement for the all-new yukons is palpable.”

the 2015 yukon and yukon xl (including the denali models) will be launched in july. “the new look 2015 lineup is true to gmc’s ‘commands respect’ tagline. they’re strong and highly capable but also offer all the features and comforts that our customers demand.”
