UAE- FoCP receives Dh158000 for cancer projects


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The friends of cancer patients (focp) society received a donation of dh158000 from the islamic affairs and charitable activities department (iacad) during the department?s participation in the dubai international humanitarian aid and development conference (dihad) 2014.

the funds will help support various cancer-related projects such as early detection treatment and awareness campaigns for different types of cancers.

dr sawsan al madhi secretary-general of the focp accepted the donation from dr hamad al shaibani director-general of the iacad in the presence of ibrahim abu malhah cultural advisor to his highness shaikh mohammed bin rashid al maktoum vice-president and prime minister of the uae and ruler of dubai and ali al mansouri head of charitable institutions department.

the department has supported 30 events held by the society with a total value exceeding dh3 million over the past three years.

the society has launched a number of initiatives for the early diagnosis of cancer including breast cervical skin and prostate cancer among others. — news?khaleejtimes.com
