Slovakia to provide Ukraine with access to gas suppliers


(MENAFN) Slovakia and Ukraine have reached an agreement giving the latter access to gas suppliers in Europe in a bid to reduce its reliance on Russia, The Peninsula Qatar reported. The Ukrainian economy minister said: "Both countries have successfully closed a deal that will help Ukraine get gas shipments." The deal to be signed gives European gas suppliers access to an unused Slovak pipeline to pump gas to Ukraine. In its efforts to cut reliance on Russian gas, Ukraine has signed similar deals with Hungary and Poland.
