Saudi power, water projects need USD220 b


(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia is planning to invest as much as USD220.19 billion in its power and water sectors to cover the growing demand in the Kingdom, according to the Emirates 24/7. The kingdom will make the projects during 2008-2020, and 63 percent of them will be for power projects. Power projects are expected to cost USD140 billion, while water projects will be USD80 billion worth. A government report said that electricity investments include USD89 billion for generation, USD32 billion for transport and the rest for distribution.
