(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said Sunday he was "happy" with the democratic practice in Kuwait but should take into consideration the constitution and ruling of constitutional court.

"I am happy with the democratic practice in our country but we should take into consideration the constitution and its articles and the ruling of the constitutional court," His Highness Sheikh Jaber said in answer to questions by reporters on sidelines of the opening of the Arab Media Forum.

The constitutional court had ruled that the Prime Minister should be questioned only within the limits of his jurisdiction, or the general policy of the government, not the duties of the ministers.

His Highness Sheikh Jaber was reacting to an interpellation submitted by three MPs against His Highness the Prime Minister.

He added that the government would be discussing the interpellation "and we will decide what we will do about it." MPs Riyadh Al-Adsani, Abdulkareem Al-Kandari and Hussein Quaiqaan submitted an interpellation motion against His Highness the Prime Minister on April 24 on account of a number of issues, primarily those about housing and rising rents.

The move was to Article 100 of the constitution, which allows members of parliament to cross-examine the prime minister and cabinet ministers over their ministerial affairs.

The grilling motion includes queries bearing on major problems like, inter alia, housing, high land and property prices, rising rentals, joblessness, the private sector's laid-off workers, health, environment, forced retirement and overseas investment.

Meanwhile, His Highness the Prime Minister was asked about giving money to some lawmakers.

"... If I have received a question by the parliament about this issue I would have answered that this is not true and did not happen," he affirmed.
