OIC Chief Meets Omani Officials


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Muscat April 27 -Omani official in charge of financial affairs Darwish Bin Ismail Al-Baloushi met here on Sunday with Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Madani and his accompanying delegation now visiting the sultanate.

They discussed a set of issues relating to the OIC's activities in the coming stage and its close relations with the other organisations such as the OIC TRADE Organisation the islamic development bank and its role in contributing the finance of the key projects in the bank's member states in addition to prospects of increasing support to the small and medium institutions for their positive yields to the economies of the member states.

Earlier today Oman's Deputy Prime Minister Fahd bin Mahmoud Al-Said and Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah separately conferred with Madani and discussed challenges faced by the Muslim world regarding Al-Aqsa Mosque the situation in Syria northern Mali and Central Africa Republic as well as the situation in Myanmar and all other areas facing political challenges.

The OIC chief arrived in Muscat earlier Saturday on a two-day visit to the Sultanate of Oman .
