(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Kabul April 27 - The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan has welcomed the preliminary election results calling the process "more transparent than ever before." The Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Afghanistan Jan Kubis today praised the work of the electoral institutions to make the process more transparent than ever before. He paid tribute to the work of those institutions to protect the integrity of the electoral process and the voices of the people while making utmost efforts to comply with the specified schedule.
Kubis looked forward to the announcement of the final results of the elections that took place on the fifth of April stressing the need that the candidates and their supporters show respect for the electoral process and the national institutions authorized to supervise that process.
