(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Cairo April 27 - Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmed Al Tayyeb has expressed readiness to support any steps contributing to the Palestinian national unity the restoration of the Palestinian people's legitimate rights the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital and any step towards promoting peace and security in the region and the world.
In a statement today Al Tayyeb said Al-Azhar is following with keen interest the steps taken in order to complete the Palestinian reconciliation and to end division pointing out that Al-Azhar appreciates those efforts and calls on everyone to translate them into a reality that would be felt by the Palestinian citizen.
