Iranian Foreign Minister Praises Relations with Austria


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Tehran April 27 - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has praised his country's relations with Austria describing them as historic close and based on mutual respect and common interests.

In a joint press conference with his Austrian counterpart Sebastian Kurz held here today Zarif welcomed the development of talks between Iran and Austria over the various issues and the expansion of those talks adding that Iran is ready to receive the Austrian president.

He explained that the region's peoples are suffering from circumstances that came as a result of the bloody violence noting that he talked with his Austrian counterpart on elections in Afghanistan and Iraq.

For his part the Austrian Foreign Minister confirmed that the Austrian-Iranian relations have common denominators hoping that his visit would help serve the development of relations between the two countries.

He added that Austria's stances are transparent and confirms the right of Iran to benefit from its nuclear right expressing the hope that the ground would be paved for the removal of the sanctions imposed on Iran due to its nuclear programme.

Kurts said Germany has been looking forward to establishing good economic relations with Iran explaining that his countries was economically harmed due to the sanctions imposed on Iran.

Kurts arrived in Tehran on Saturday evening at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart.
