Apple, Google, firms to pay USD324 m in lawsuit


(MENAFN) Four major tech companies including Apple and Google recently announced their welling to pay USD324 million to settle a lawsuit accusing them of conspiring to hold down salaries in Silicon Valley, according to Arab News. The four companies' workers filed a class action lawsuit against Apple Inc., Google Inc, Intel Inc. and Adobe Systems Inc. earlier in 2011 saying that the four companies conspired to refrain from soliciting one another"s employees in order to avert a salary war. The workers wanted to ask for USD3 billion but they could triple to USD9 billion under antitrust law.
