First case of coronavirus detected in Egypt


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Health authorities here announced on Saturday the discovery of a first case of corornvirus in the country, involving a 27 year old man. The young man was suspected of having the virus by the health quarantine authorities at Cairo International Airport, said a statement issued by the Ministry of Health and Housing. Once suspected, the young man, who has been working as an engineer in Saudi Arabia for four years and from which he arrived at the airport yesterday, was sequestered immediately and was subjected to tests for the coronavirus disease, said the statement. The tests came out positive for his contracting the disease. The statement added that the patient was currently hospitalized for a lung infection also and would be under observation for some time.
