Sri Lankan national falls to death in Sharjah


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The police are investigating whether there was any criminal act behind his fall and questioning some persons who had connections with the deceased.

the sharjah police are investigating the death of a 30-year-old sri lankan national on thursday evening after he fell from the 24th floor of al mansoor building near lulu hypermarket in al nahda area.

the police said they received a call from a passer-by in al nahda residential area about a person lying on the ground. policemen who arrived on the scene soon found the man lying in a pool of blood.

he was rushed to al kuwaiti hospital where the doctors confirmed the victim who was identified as soranja s. had died due to the fall. the body was shifted to forensic laboratory.

a 23-year-old emirati man died on the spot after he lost control over his car that rammed a electric post and overturned on maliha road in sharjah on thursday.

the man was rushed by the police ambulance to al dahid hospital where he was pronounced dead.

police said the accident occurred as the deceased identified as b.m. was speeding which caused him to lose control over the steering wheel.

the police said they received the call on thursday evening at the operation room which dispatched patrol and ambulance teams and traffic officers to the scene. the victim was bleeding heavily.

the body was shifted to the morgue of al dahid hospital and was released to his family members for the funeral on friday.
