WFP Continues Efforts in S. Sudan


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Geneva April 25 - World Food Programme (WFP) said that it will continue providing humanitarian assistance in South Sudan in spite of the attack which targeted on Thursday a convoy carrying food items and fuel in the Upper Nile state.

Spokeswoman for WPF in South Sudan Elizabeth Byrs said that food aid reaches its destinations despite the difficult conditions.

She added that the program in South Sudan has provided aid for more than seven hundred thousand people have been displaced because of the crisis assistance was delivered to more than three and sixty thousand children under the age of five in the states of Central Equatoria Jonglei Lakes Unity Upper Nile Northern Bahr el Ghazal and Warrap.

More than seventy-eight thousand people are sheltering in eight bases of the United Nations Mission across southern Sudan.
