Japan Consumer Prices Climb 1.3 per cent in March


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Tokyo April 25 - Consumer prices in Japan rose 1.3 per cent in March from a year earlier for the tenth straight month of increase the government said Friday.

The core consumer price index which excludes fresh food stood at 100.8 against a base of 100 for 2010 the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said.

Higher electricity costs and petrol prices amid a falling yen mainly contributed to the rise the ministry said.
