Dubai Customs tops recruiter of Emirati job seekers


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Dubai customs which is fully dedicated to boost localisation has managed to emiratise 84 per cent of its total workforce.

while 34 government departments here are offering over 1600 jobs to emirati job seekers at the career fair 2014 dubai customs remains at the top with the highest emiratisation percentage in the emirate.

the announcement was made on wednesday morning by ahmed mahboob musabih director of dubai customs while briefing shaikh mansour bin mohammed bin rashid al maktoum who was visiting the department pavilion.

“the inspection unit which constitutes 47 per cent of the 3000 employees working for dubai customs is 100 per cent run by uae nationals” he added.

talking about dubai customs hr plans musabih affirmed that they all conform to the dubai government’s emiratisation agenda. dubai customs spares no effort to attract national cadres to various specialisations within customs he said.

explaining he said dubai customs’ recruitment strategy is focused on attracting national cadres. “we are offering many positions for nationals at the career fair this year to increase the number of national employees across in all sectors of the department.”

annual training plans are also held for new national hires to promote their performance raise the standards of work and give them a chance to flourish in their respective field he noted.

musabih stated that dubai customs is offering up to 150 vacancies for uae nationals in various fields such as media hr inspection finance audit and more. “the dubai customs two stands received a vast number of applicants who were given the psychometric test that revealed their best career characteristics.”

after the test and the personalised analysis applicants were given i-pads to submit their applications online along with two customised giveaways with hr’s contact information in order to follow up on the status of their applications.

musabih said the dubai customs consistently takes part in all career fairs. “these events are a great channel for entities to meet a big number of national job seekers.”

they also provide greater opportunities for uae nationals to get in contact with the officials concerned. “dubai customs looks forward to participating in such events to meet young and motivated people who are ready to work in a bid to help these individuals to start their career.”
