Germany's RWE to invest in UK solar farm

(MENAFN) Germany's second largest energy company said that it plans to invest in one of the largest solar farms in the UK, Xinhua reported. RWE AG said that it will provide "essential financial and technical support" to the solar farm located in England's abandoned airfield in Oxfordshire. The Kencot Hill Solar Farm expected to generate a total of 36 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in its first full year of operation, supplying nearly 10,000 households. The farm will be connected to the UK's grid by the end of summer. RWE said that the solar farm will be sold to Foresight Solar Fund Limited once it is constructed.
