Kenyan President Highlights Economic Ties with Qatar Urges More Investments


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) ha April 23 - Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has underlined the economic ties between his country and Qatar pointing to their recent growth thanks to the signing of a number of bilateral agreements and stressing his country's openness towards Arab countries and particularly with Qatar. Kenyatta made the remarks during a dinner banquet held in his honor by HE Sheikh Dr. Khaled bin Thani Al Thani second deputy of the Qatari Businessmen Association in the presence of HE Minister of Culture Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari. The Kenyan president welcomed Qatari investments in tourism services and industry. "Kenya is seeking through its good investment atmosphere and investors protection laws to attract new foreign investment in order to provide as much job opportunities as possible" Kenyatta said urging the Qatari side to visit his country and have a close look at the economic environment and investment opportunities there. Qatari Businessmen Association Chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassem Al Thani welcomed in a speech the guest president and highlighted the historic trade ties between Qatar and Kenya noting that Qatari businessmen are always happy to see countries keen on entering the Qatari market and cooperating with its businessmen. He called for supporting the first mutual investment experiment and easing legal procedures because it constitutes a precedent for companies and businessmen who are interested in investing in Kenya.
